Our family of 5 turned the American landscape into our backyard, taking our 4WD van, "Van-Go," to 37 National Parks. From the towering Redwoods to the volcanic steams of Lassen, Van-Go was our reliable home. When unexpected weather hit, the van’s legendary snow capabilities truly shone; its heavy-duty heaters and precision 4WD kept us cozy and moving through frozen passes in Mount Rainier and late-season blizzards in Yosemite. We marveled at Sequoia’s giants before pushing into the heat of Saguaro and the depths of Carlsbad Caverns. In the Southwest, we tackled the washboard roads of Grand Escalante and the technicolor wonders of Zion, Arches, Canyonlands, and Capitol Reef. The kids touched fossils at Dinosaur and explored Mesa Verde. Finally, we visited Mount Rushmore, boated through Voyageurs, and finished among the misty ridges of the Smokies and Shenandoah. This is a big van that drives like a big truck. It is made for adventure, but it has been many years since our adventures were very far from a highway. We are looking for something smaller and more road oriented. Maintenance: above the normal routine maintenance we have replaced the cam position sensor (around 30,000 miles), microwave (around 50,000 miles), turbo and hoses (around 60,000 miles), front wheel bearings and tie rods (around 70,000 miles), starter and two van-side batteries (around 80,000 miles). 2 new tires about 5,000 miles ago, 2 tires about 15,000 miles ago and spare is about 8 years old (1/4" tread).
